Determination of the PPA Rate

A PPA is one of the main factor that determines a power project’s ‘bankability’.

PPA rate = Cf + Ef

Cf = Capacity fee = fixed costs + debt service + sponsor reimbursement
Ef = Energy fee = fuel + variable O&M costs

How does a jet engine work?

0. The principles for jet airplane engines are same with power generation in natural gas power plants.

Therefore, to understand jet engines will help us to understand power generation process.

1. How does a jet engine work?

4 stages : Suck -> Squeeze -> Bang -> Blow

2. Turbo jet

Compressed, high pressure, high temperature and high density air can push a turbine really fast and spins it.

3. Turbo fan

Turbo fan uses both fan air and exhaust.
